自筆証書遺言書保管制度の遺言者本人の身分証明書について(ご注意）－Regarding the identification of the testator under the Holographic Will Storage System (Note)

自筆証書遺言保管制度は、３，９００円の廉価な手数料で、民法第９６８条の自筆証書遺言の方式を完備した有効な自筆証書遺言書を法務局に保管することで、通常の自筆証書遺言書のような相続開始後（遺言者がお亡くなりなった後）に家庭裁判所で検認手続きをしないでスムースに相続手続きを進められる大変利便性の高い制度です（この制度のメリット・デメリットの詳細は割愛します）。

遺言者本人の顔写真付きの官公署から発行された身分証明書（マイナンバーカード・運転免許証・運転経歴証明書・旅券・在留カード・特別永住者証明書など）が必要であり、いずれも無い場合には自筆証書遺言保管制度を利用できませんので、ご注意ください。基本中の基本で当たり前のような事ですが、特に高齢者の方でいずれの身分証明書も無いといったケースも多く、その場合にはマイナンバーカードを必ず作成しなければ自筆証書遺言保管制度を利用できませんので、ご注意ください。

The Holographic Will Storage System allows for the low fee of 3,900 yen to have a valid holographic will that meets the requirements of Article 968 of the Civil Code stored at the Legal Affairs Bureau.
This allows for smooth inheritance procedures without the need for probate at the family court after the inheritance begins (after the testator passes away), as is the case with a regular holographic will. (We won’t go into the details of the system’s advantages and disadvantages here.)

Please note that a government-issued form of identification bearing the testator’s photo (such as a My Number Card, driver’s license, driving history certificate, passport, residence card, or special permanent resident certificate) is required. If you do not have any of these, you will not be able to use the Holographic Will Storage System.
While this may seem like a basic necessity, there are many cases, especially among elderly people, who lack any form of identification. In such cases, you must obtain a My Number Card in order to use the Holographic Will Storage System.
